What is an immigration evaluation?
An immigration evaluation is an assessment conducted by a licensed clinician to explain the mental health state of an individual in an immigration case. The evaluation typically involves assessing various aspects of the individual’s background and circumstances to determine their eligibility for immigration. This may include information about their family, trauma history, and mental health. Immigration evaluations do come in various types and can be conducted by a licensed clinical social worker, mental health counselor, or psychologist.
Psychological Evaluations:
Therapy (Counseling) comes in many shapes and forms. It varies depending on the personalities of the therapist and Client, and the particular problems you may be experiencing.
As therapists, we use many different evidence-based methods that would help you address your presenting problem. Therapy calls for a very active effort on your part.
The greatest work in counseling will always be done outside of the counseling session, at which point you will get to practice the skills you and your therapist will be working on.
Therapy can have benefits and risks. Since therapy often involves discussing unpleasant aspects of your life, you may experience uncomfortable feelings like sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, and helplessness. On the other hand, therapy has also been shown to benefit people who go through it.
Therapy often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress. But there are no guarantees of what you will experience.
The therapeutic relationship is based upon trust, with both parties accepting responsibility for keeping appointments.
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay a no show fee.
Emergencies will be reviewed on a case by case basis
We are offering only virtual sessions at this time.
We provide reduced-fee therapy to clients in need.
